Northwest briefs: Washington football gets two more commitments

Sunday, June 14, 2009 |

Washington capped off a busy week of football Bets recruiting with commitments Sunday from receiver Keanen Lowe of Jesuit High in Portland and tight end Michael Hartvigson of Bothell High.

"I just couldn't see myself going anywhere besides Washington," Hartvigson said. "It's been my dream school since Day One."

The 6-foot-6, 235-pound Hartvigson, who could also end up at defensive end, also had offers from Washington State, Boise State and Oregon State.

The 5-10, 170-pound Lowe had offers from Arizona State, Stanford, Brigham Young, Oregon and Oregon State and said he was attracted in part by Washington's enthusiasm over letting him play his preferred position of receiver.

This brings to 11 the number of solid commits for UW's Class of 2010.
